Last week Mozilla announced it had closed its International online store after a third-party vendor suffered a security breach, and today the team bought it back online again.
After running a series of diagnostic tests, Mozilla and Merchandise Mania (the company in charge of the International Store) are satisfied all security precautions are in place.
During the downtime, the IT teams from both Mozilla and Merchandise Mania, the operating vendor for the International Mozilla Store, performed diagnostic tests and confirmed that the appropriate security procedures were in place. The International Store was not affected by the GatewayCDI breach and no personal information was exposed at any point.
The American store still remains closed, and at this stage its unclear how long it will remain shut although obviously it will be opened once again when both Mozilla and GatewayCDI are satisfied it won’t suffer the same security breach again.
